Before buying a puppy, specify true reasons why you want to become a dog's owner. It is a mistake to think that your young children will appreciate a cute present. Only if the whole family agrees to cooperate and has a great desire to raise the pup, is it worth buying. However, Dachshunds are not likely to put up with an inferior position in the family. Puppies are sold when they are 1.5-2 months old. Between the age of 2 and 3 months the pups must get all necessary shots. When actually choosing a puppy, examine its eyes and ears. Watch the puppy's movements. They should show no sign of fear, shyness or aggression. Sanitary conditions should be maintained. The pedigree is also important to have a look at.

More likely, however, the Dachshund began to form as a breed in the 16th century in South Germany. "Dachs" means "badger." "Hund" translates as "dog."
